We are located in Santa Elena, Cayo, the twin city of San Ignacio. To be specific, we are in the Hillview neighborhood. This neighborhood is located a short 5 minutes drive south of the George Price Highway behind the Loma Luz Hospital. The George Price Highway is the main road where all the stores are.
Hillview is a working peoples’ neighborhood with small but well kept houses. The Hill that is being viewed is the one we are located on. (X marks the spot) We are actually facing out toward Pilgrims Valley, the bush and the Santa Cruz neighborhood rather than being able to see Hillview.
You will not need a 4-wheel drive in any season to get here but you will need to go slow.
Of course you can also easily walk to the main grocery stores. If carrying full bags and huffing uphill to get home is not your thing, a taxi is quickly found and charges just a few dollars.
On the George Price Highway you have 5 large grocery stores within a few blocks. Walking down the street toward San Ignacio you will find everything: hardware store; a variety store with household goods, toys, beauty supplies and more; a pharmacy; a place that prints and copies; and multiple small grocery stores and eateries in between. And that is just to name a few of the stores between here and San Ignacio.
Once you crossed the bridge over to San Ignacio you will encounter the market and the downtown Burns Avenue area where all the hotels and restaurants are.
